Product - quality of paint unsatisfactory

Update 30th Nov
After contact from Duke Craft and support to this issue, this has now changed to a medium level purely on basis of quality at time of despatch

Delivery was very quick however product is sadly lacking in a quality finish, it looks as though they shipped an inferior product! It also appears that it would cost me to send back as i don’t wish to pay more i would just like it finished i will paint myself but since email sent early this morning no reply 😩 hence one must leave a negative review just check how bad the quality is in the picture attached

a"craft" company - well, they are certainly crafty...

It appears that they manufacture the item and describe the constituent parts as "acrylic, MDF or plywood". The blemishes in the supplied (wooden) product are then brushed aside as "part of the natural wood", really?
Neither plywood or MDF are natural and the contradiction is clear. This is a company that appears to distance itself from any responsibility for its work. The phrase "Buyer Beware" should be replaced by "Buyer Avoid"...

Disgraceful Company to deal with!

Prompt service, order was delivered within a few days and was well packaged. However, the wall art had blemishes. I contacted the company and was told that the wood had 'natural knots'. BUT, as the wood is plywood or MDF it wouldn't have natural knots. I sent a photo of the blemishes and am still waiting for a reply.
I tried phoning but the phone number on their website is incorrect! Watch this space for updates!

Update 5/8/24 - the company now say that they replied again, however I did not receive any email. I contacted them via eBay and got several very unhelpful or pleasant responses. I am now awaiting another response having sent photos of what I consider the problem to be. I would say that their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

Update 6/8
The company states that they relied to my emails. However, I did not receive their 2nd email and I have explained this to them.
They state 'We have made several attempts to assist you and provide clarifications, but it seems our efforts have not met your expectations.'
I would dispute this - they have made no effort to assist but only repeat what is on their website. As far as I am concerned the item I purchased is defective with dents clearly visible but I am told this is natural. The item is clearly of inferior quality and not worth in excess of £70 paid. It looks good from a distance but on closer inspection it is not so good!
I will not use this company again.
They have not addressed the fact that the phone number listed on their site is incorrect.
7/08 Update

The company has refused to accept that their product is inferior quality so I am now left with a piece that is not of an acceptable standard for the price paid. Needless to say I will not be recommending this company to anyone!

13/8 update

Following a visit to my local hardware store/wood merchant I was advised that I was correct and the plywood was indeed faulty. Duke Craft ate ignoring my emails, even when I point out that under The Consumer Rights Act 2015 I am entitled to a refund on faulty goods. I am left with no option but to take this further and will report the matter toTrading Standards.

What a pity I had to resort to this platform in order to get a response! There may be many great reviews but there are many bad reviews also. You are not a company that has any respect or consideration for your customers, which is obvious from the reviews I have read.
Other customers have had the same issues as I have had.

14/09 Update
The wall art has now fallen off the wall and broken! Duke Craft refuse to take any responsibility saying it is my responsibility to hang the art work appropriately. I hung it as per instructions on a smooth wall.
This company is a disgrace and refuse to take responsibility for anything. They DO NOT care about their customers at all. STAY WELL CLEAR

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we're sorry to hear that you are not completely satisfied.

We would like to clarify a few points mentioned in your review:

- We have responded to each of your messages within 24 hours, striving to address your concerns promptly.
- We have explained the difference between natural knots, which are inherent to the real wood veneer used in our plywood products, and any potential faults. It seems there may have been a misunderstanding regarding these natural characteristics.
- The customer service team responsible for our eBay department is different from our website team, with whom you initially placed your order. The eBay team directed you to our website team to ensure you received the appropriate support for your purchase.
- Each material used in our products is clearly described in our product details to avoid any confusion regarding the nature of the materials.

We have made several attempts to assist you and provide clarifications, but it seems our efforts have not met your expectations.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Best regards,
Duke Craft

Dear Michele,

We understand your continued frustration and want to address your latest comments.

We did try to explain clearly to you each time the natural characteristics of the materials used in our products.
Our descriptions and Terms & Conditions are very clear about the materials we use and the processes involved in creating our custom-made artwork.
The Consumer Rights Act 2015 applies to brand new items, but please note that our art is custom-made to order, which is excluded from this act.
Your threat to report us to Trading Standards will have no effect, but you are welcome to do so if you feel it necessary. We stand by the quality and transparency of our products and processes.

We are very clear about what we sell, the materials we use, and the techniques involved. We take pride in our work, as evidenced by the thousands of great reviews across all our platforms.

Best regards,
Duke Craft
